MuMM Multimodal Multifunctional Microassembly System (BMBF ZIM)


Initial situation

With the spread of industrial automation (Industry 4.0) in the field of high-temperature metal processing (e.g. additive manufacturing, laser cutting/welding forging), the need for inline monitoring of the melt temperature to improve quality is increasing. For temperature ranges >1000°C only glass lenses can be used instead of germanium lenses. Due to their lower refractive index, glass lenses place high demands on the system accuracy of such infrared cameras.


Project goal

In this project, modular self-learning assembly systems for the assembly of infrared cameras are to be developed, as well as self-learning algorithms for the inline correction of component defects based on artificial neural networks integrated into the assembly.
